“Place the nickel straight and true
and toss the plane up high!
Jefferson is back at last
To seize the great blue sky!”
Did Thomas Jefferson ever fly a plane? Probably not!
Jefferson was a busy man, between writing the Declaration
of Independence and serving as the third President of the
United States—not to mention that he died 77 years before
the Wright Brothers first flew at Kitty Hawk in 1903! But
Jefferson was also an inventor, fascinated by machines and
dedicated to exploring the unknown, so he would have
welcomed the chance to fly in this plane.
